Released on 27th June 1981, No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith was Motorhead’s first live album. It reached no.1 in the UK album charts, capitalising on the preceding success of the St Valentine’s Day Massacre (with Girlschool) and Ace of Spades.
However, Lemmy believed its success was due to a building anticipation from their fan base for a live album due to the band having toured so heavily in the past.

One of the great live rock albums, capturing the energy of Motorhead as they tear through their set. Recorded in Leeds and Newcastle, the album helped to give those fans who hadn’t seen the band live a taste of their gigs.
It’s not stop heavy metal head banging at its best.
