It’s hard to believe that the classic Marillion album ‘Misplaced Childhood’ is now 35 years old!
Released on 17 June 1985, the album was for many their gateway into the music of Marillion.
It remained in the UK charts for a total of 41 weeks, peaking at number one and ultimately gaining Platinum status. Featuring Marillion’s two most successful singles, Kayleigh (No.2 in UK charts) and Lavender (No.5 in UK charts) it boosted Marillion’s appeal across the UK and the rest of the world.
Misplaced Childhood was also listed as the sixth best album of 1985 by Kerrang magazine and chosen as the fourth greatest concept album of all time by Classic Rock in 2003.
